About The Speaker
Toa Green is the Owner/Operator of Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream in Lexington, Kentucky. She started Crank & Boom in the back of their family Thai restaurant in 2013 using a 2-quart Cuisinart ice cream maker and has grown the business to now serving at 50+ festivals and catering events each year, 40+ retail partners like Woodford Reserve and Whole Foods and two brick and mortar locations in the Lexington Distillery District and The Barn at Summit at Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. Crank & Boom has been featured in the New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Southern Living, PEOPLE Magazine, and Cooking Channel.
Having grown up in Frankfort, Toa bleeds Kentucky Blue through and through despite having graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of Leadership Development on the Executive Board of Commerce Lexington and as the President of the Lexington Distillery District Foundation. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in India, Thailand, and Honduras and in various parts of the US. Toa and her husband, Mike, have a 2 year old boy named Bodhi (CrankyBoomBoom) and a 6 month old girl named Bindi (CrankyBoomTwo).
