Emily H. Cowles is a Member of the McBrayer law office, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of banking and finance, civil litigation, corporate law, commercial real estate and equine law.
Emily H. Cowles is a Member of the McBrayer law office, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of banking and finance, civil litigation, corporate law, commercial real estate and equine law. With more than 15-years of legal experience, she has been recognized as a leader in her field numerous times, such as the Kentucky Super Lawyers’ lists “Top 50 Attorneys in Kentucky (2018-2019)” and “Top 25 Women Attorneys in Kentucky (2018-2019),” the Best Lawyers in America (2017- 2019), and in 2014 the Lane Report recognized Emily in its “Top Women in Business” edition. Emily was recently appointed to a four-year term as an attorney member and chair on the Inquiry Commission of the Kentucky Bar Association, which receives allegations of professional misconduct by attorneys. In 2017, she was sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where Emily serves as a voice for abused and neglected children in the Fayette County court system. But Emily is more than just a lawyer – she is the mother of two young boys, a volunteer, thoroughbred owner, a businesswoman and an avid baseball and UK basketball fan. Emily also serves on the Board of Trustees for Sayre School, and is heavily involved with Commerce Lexington and the statewide professional network of Women Leading Kentucky.
